Emily Haverkamp

Project Specialist

In her role as a Project Specialist, Emily supports the IC Legal Network by creating assessment tools to track comprehension of Department of Justice legal representatives in training and compiling and organizing legal material for network distribution.

“I believe that immigrants, as human beings made with inherent dignity and value, deserve access to compassionate, dignifying, and comprehensive immigration legal services no matter where they live. It’s an honor and a privilege to work with an organization that strives to provide this kind of compassion-focused service to frequently dehumanized and villainized people groups.”

Emily worked as a Department of Justice legal representative in Indianapolis for 2 years prior to her switch to the role as a Project Specialist for the Immigrant Connection National team. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Community Development from Indiana Wesleyan University and is currently working on her Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law. Emily is married to her husband, James, and they are expecting twins in May of 2024.
