Marlo Cookston

Director of Generosity

With over twenty years in strategic fundraising and development, Marlo Cookston brings deep expertise in cultivating generosity to her role as Director of Generosity at Immigrant Connection. Her career journey through faith-based and nonprofit sectors sparked a passion for serving vulnerable communities.

Marlo discovered her calling at the intersection of philanthropy and social impact, successfully managing multi-million dollar campaigns and building sustainable giving programs throughout her career. Her expertise in corporate partnerships, foundation grants, and major gift cultivation is enhanced by her graduate research on positive organizational transformation in low-trust environments—insights particularly valuable when building authentic relationships with immigrant communities.

She holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Claremont Lincoln University and a Bachelor of Arts from Anderson University, including transformative study in Peace Studies in Northern Ireland. Marlo lives in central Indiana with her husband, two daughters still at home (one daughter in Scotland), their cat Flynn, dog Enola, and goldfish Princess Gabriella.
